Major Annoucement: Forensic Accreditation Achieved

ISO17025 Accreditation

We are excited to announce that we are officially accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Quality Assurance Standards by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

This tremendous milestone is the culmination of more than a year of long hours, blood, sweat and tears for our laboratory. The ANAB accreditation process evaluated our laboratory against 732 requirements that must be assessed and adhered to. This is an amazing accomplishment by dedicated, passionate, and hard-working IMF team members who have put their heart and soul into this historic nonprofit laboratory. The achievement is especially remarkable for a brand-new, from-scratch laboratory focused on cutting edge technology to find answers in difficult and complicated forensic cold cases.

It is almost unbelievable to look back on the journey we have undertaken to get our laboratory to this place. To reinforce this, remember that this was us in October, 2019:

It's amazing how far we have come and a testiment to some pretty unbelievable people that have become the Intermountain Forensics Family. I, personally, would like to thank the tireless team (Derek Cutler, Alyssa MacElreath, Elena Rojas, Emily Harris) and the countless partners and supporters that have helped us get here (specific shoutout to Francine Bardole) for everything they have done to achieve this milestone. They are, quite simply, the best in the business!

We won't be resting on this achievement, however. There's always more to be done and we will never stop improving!

In the immortal words of our founder and CEO, Karra Porter (who we send immeasurable thanks to as well for everything she has sacrificed to make this dream of a forensic nonprofit laboratory a reality)....

Let's change the world!
