Novaseq 6000: Welcome to our bright new future!

Happy DNA Day! We'd like to officially annouce and unveil our brand new Illumina Novaseq 6000 in laboratory. Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy has shown to be a game changing science to solve cold cases and identify unknown bodies. This instrument gives us an ability to perform Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) which can provide massive power of genetic information to generate 500,000 Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP's) that provide the foundation of a Geneit Genealogy profile!
Words cannot describe how massive this instrument will be for our laborotory and our ability to provide cutting edge Forensic DNA results to our partners. We will provide more information on what we plan to do, when we plan to do it and how much it will cost as we glean more information. But, to begin, on this fantastic DNA Day 2022, we just want to share our excitement and appreciation.
This could not be possible without some massive outreach by a couple of donors who wish to remain anonymous. We thank you so very much! This instrument is VERY expensive and without donations from amazing people, we couldn't do the work we do and would not have the ability to help. This is one of the biggest days in our history and we have really amazing people supporting us to get to where we are. Thank you.

We aren't a laboratory who would typically be considered big enough to be a "blip" on their radar. But they have proven to be true partners and friends to help us get to this point.
